Mona Ms. Baker and The Louvre
So today we went to a very famous museum in Paris, The Louvre. In the Louvre you can see paintings and other pieces of art from some very famous artists. One of the most famous is a painting called the Mona Lisa which was done by a man named Leonardo da Vinci. The cool thing about the painting is that it seems as though everywhere you walk in the room, the eyes of Mona Lisa follow you! Cool, huh. I got a postcard to show you the Mona Lisa when I get back, but until then you will just have to see the Mona Ms. Baker! Also, the big glass triangle sits on top of the museum so when we were inside, we had to go underneath it!!

Champs d'Elysees
This afternoon, Audrey and I went to the Champs d'Elysees where we got to go shopping and drink hot chocolate. At one end of the Champs d'Elysees is the Arc de Triomphe (Arc of Triumph). The arc is to honor the soldiers who fought for France in the Napoleonic Wars. There is also a memorial there to honor the soldiers who died fighting for France. There is a special song about the Champs d'Elysees that I know so that is what the video is about (I made Audrey do one too!) At the other end of the street is a great building with the French flag on top. I thought you might like to see their flag...it is the same colors as ours, but looks different. Also, there was a store called Morgan Mania (like the Morgan in our afternoon kindergarten class!)
Le Poisson D' Avril
So today I went back to Chelles with my sister. This time I got to go to school with her and meet the kids. She gets to go into different classes to teach them English and today she taught the 2nd graders. Also, today in the United States is April Fool's Day where you get to trick someone. In France, they celebrate it a little differently and they call it Le Poisson d'Avril (April Fish Day!). They draw fish with a message on it and give it to people (sometimes they give it to someone in secret by sticking it to their back, but I don't think that sounds nice!) Anyway, one of Audrey's students (Elodie) gave her a fish today so here is a picture of that! Also, in the classes, the kids are not allowed to talk at all or they get in trouble. And, every time the principal comes into the room, the kids have to stand up! Should we try that when Mr. Buchman comes in one day!?
